Our plants seem to think that it’s Spring, so I thought I’d get in on the act and partake in some Spring Cleaning as of late. Of course this is my website I’m refering to as the traditional “dusters at the ready” version of Spring Cleaning is far beyond my capabilities!
I have updated my version of Wordpress to the latest release - 2.1. With that I hope to have eliminated most of the low-cost prescription drugs and insurance messages which have been clogging my database. I also upgraded to a nightly release of the K2 theme that I’ve been using for the better part of 6 months now. I have reverted back to my old theme which seemed to be causing some odd display bugs in IE6, but now that IE7 is upon us the problem seems to have been solved!
Most other changes are behind closed doors and their only purpose in life is to make my job of posting all sorts of crap that little bit easier - No more accidently losing drafts! Although for centuries, man has been attracted to shortcuts, the easy way of doing things you might say. Now that posting to my blog on the laptop won’t be as cautious and headwrecking an experience that it used to be, it should result in me being posting more… despite my Leaving Cert fast approaching!
I must apologise to everyone, including myself, for not being around for the past 3 months! It’s not that I forgot about the place, but instead I just lost interest in the site and was formulating these grand plans to spice up the site a bit. As you can see though, they never quite materialised. But soon they will! Maybe not soon, but perhaps later!
For now though, I hope to get back into the swing of things and once again post about whatever tickles my fancy.
About a month a go, I started upgrading Adams Rants in an attempt to make it bigger and better. However, I soon ran into some serious internal problems (you couldn’t see them) which resulted in the site not recognising me as the administrator. So one month down the line, I have mustered up the enthusiasm to work on the site and we are starting from scratch again! I have saved ALL the old posts however I think I’ll only bring back posts that people have specifically asked me to keep as because it’s a tedious process restoring the old posts!
In the month or so that I have spent contemplating whether or not to resurrect the site, a lot has happened to me! A few weeks a go, a discussion about relish (yes, relish) turned out to be a turning point for the worst in a long-term friendship which in retrospect could barely be defined as a friendship particularly due to the fact there isn’t one iota of my mind, body or soul that cares about it! It might seem to you that I don’t value friendship very highly but you couldn’t be more wrong!
